Confidential adviser

Last updated: 12 February 2025

At Aikido school Sankaku we believe it is important that everyone can train in a safe and respectful environment. That is why we have appointed an independent confidential adviser. Are you dealing with unwanted behaviour, situations that cross a line, or do you feel uncomfortable about something? Our confidential adviser is there to listen to you and help you find a solution.

What does a confidential adviser do?

Our confidential adviser is available to all members, parents, volunteers and board members. He or she offers a listening ear and can advise on further steps. Everything you discuss remains confidential, unless there is a serious situation in which legal or ethical intervention is required.

You can turn to the confidential adviser for:

  • Behaviour that crosses a line, such as bullying, discrimination or (sexual) harassment
  • Conflicts within the foundation
  • Unsafe situations or wrongdoing
  • General questions about safe training within our foundation

Who is our confidential adviser?

Our independent confidential adviser is Sydney Leijenhorst. He has long experience in guiding confidential conversations and helps you find a suitable solution. If you wish, he can also refer you to a female confidential adviser.

You can reach Sydney via:

Are you a member of the JBN? Then you can, if you wish, also contact the JBN confidential contact person.

Our commitment to a safe sporting environment

We strive for an environment in which everyone feels welcome and safe. That is why we encourage open communication and respect within our dojo. Do you have questions or suggestions about this topic? Feel free to contact the board via aikido@aikidoarnhem.nl.

Together we ensure a pleasant and safe aikido experience!
